Paper flowers and wreaths
In Poland, live flowers are available only for part of the year. That is why, in the past, in the villages, flowers were made of blotting paper. They were used to decorate interiors (for example during Easter), as well as roadside crosses.
Cutout from Strzyżewice
One of the basic forms of decorations characteristic of Polish folk culture was a paper cutout. Many regions have their own distinctive forms and themes. We will present how it was made in Strzyżewice and its vicinity (in the Lublin region).
Making candles from wax
In the past, the basic material for making candles was beeswax. In the past, in the production of candles, wax was kneaded or melted by hand. Today, beeswax candles can be made in a much faster and easier way.
