Expo 2020 Dubai is the opportunity to strengthen their position in global reality

For years, Polish companies and institutions have been actively working towards a responsible and sustainable technological transformation. The result is achievements in the fields of low-emission transport, passive construction and waste management. The potential of innovative green technologies on the international arena is strengthened by Poland's participation in Expo 2020 Dubai. The Polish Investment and Trade Agency has prepared a comprehensive economic programme with great opportunities for entrepreneurs to establish new business contacts.

Since the beginning of Expo 2020 Dubai, Poland has been promoting innovative technological solutions which have a positive impact on the environment. This is confirmed by the presence of Polish companies from promising sectors of sustainable economy. Ekoenergetyka is one of the companies that present its solutions in the visiting zone of the Poland Pavilion - "Poland. Spirit of ingenuity". It is a technology company and one of the pioneers in the field of electromobility. It designs charging infrastructure for electric vehicles. The company provides its solutions to manufacturers of cars and electric buses. It operates in more than 150 cities around the world. It has recently launched charging stations for electric vehicles in Germany and Belgium. Another company that presents its achievements in the Poland Pavilion is Columbus Energy. It started its activities as a start-up, and now, it enjoys a reputation of a specialist in the field of energy-efficient solutions for the home. The company's offer includes, e.g., photovoltaic farms, heat pumps, energy storage or green power plants. So far, 48,500 customers throughout Poland have used the company's services.

Green technology at Expo 2020 Dubai

The topic of green energy for the future and innovative solutions was discussed, i.a., at the Polish-Arab Economic Forum (6 December 2021) - one of the most important events at Expo 2020 Dubai, during which domestic achievements are presented. One of the thematic panels was devoted to that issue. It was pointed out that the world should rely on renewable energy sources. The purpose of the panel was to find answers to the most important questions related to the implementation of the ambitious plans to achieve global green transformation. A large part of the discussion was devoted to hydrogen and its role in the implementation of the so-called Green Deal. Grzegorz Jóźwiak, the Director of the Alternative Fuels Implementation Office of PKN ORLEN, reminded that the Polish fuel and energy company had declared that it would achieve carbon neutrality by 2050. The aim is to implement the "Hydrogen Eagle" infrastructure project for the hydrogen economy in Poland and Central Europe. PKN ORLEN will process municipal waste into hydrogen which will be used as fuel for transport. Ultimately, 120 hydrogen refuelling stations are to be built, which will translate into a reduction of the carbon footprint by one million tonnes per year.

Polish environmental technologies supported by state institutions

Polish entrepreneurs who decide to offer products based on green technologies can count on regular financial and promotional support from many state institutions. The flagship project dedicated to originators of innovative services is called "GreenEvo - Green Technology Accelerator". The programme was prepared by the Ministry of Climate and Environment and it helps to promote the best Polish environmental technologies in the country and on foreign markets. Active support is provided to the winners of the 7th and 8th editions - a total of 31 companies that offer 36 solutions verified by specialists. As part of the support, meetings with partners from different countries are organised for the entrepreneurs. In addition to greater opportunities in establishing international contacts, Polish small and medium-sized companies also gain knowledge on foreign markets, marketing know-how and tools to enable their dynamic development. The GreenEvo programme was launched in 2009, as a result of the arrangements made during the 14th United Nations Congress. The programme supports solutions of various companies in the field of water and sewage management, air protection or technologies that reduce greenhouse gas emissions.
