The Poland Pavilion, with its wooden facade and peculiar kinetic sculpture symbolising a flock of birds is one of the most popular at Expo 2020 Dubai. On 4 March, the Pavilion was visited by its one millionth guest, Aisha from the United Arab Emirates.

Every day, the Poland Pavilion is being visited by over a dozen thousand people, and the turnout has been continuously growing since the beginning of January. Optimum weather and low COVID-19 levels in the United Arab Emirates contribute to the number of visits to Expo 2020 Dubai facilities.

“Even before the opening of Expo 2020 Dubai, we expected that the Poland Pavilion would be one of the most popular at this World Expo. What makes it stand out is its beautiful architectural design, the use of timber, the arresting kinetic sculpture on the façade, and, naturally, the unique exhibition inside. With one month to go before closure, we’ve welcomed our one millionth guest. This confirms that our pavilion attracts interest and appreciation of the visitors from all across the world. Let’s remember that part of our success comes from our Polish hospitality, the involvement of our whole team and pavilion’s staff,” said Adrian Malinowski, Commissioner General of the Polish Section at Expo 2020 Dubai.

Our one millionth visitor turned out to be Aisha, a young Arab woman from the United Arab Emirates who has already had a chance to visit Expo 2020 Dubai; this time, however, she decided to check out the Poland Pavilion.

“I’m so honoured, surprised, and pleased that I’m the one millionth visitor at the Poland Pavilion. Thank you very much for the amazing treats I’ve received. I’m delighted that I can see the Poland Pavilion, because its architectural design is outstanding. All my friends also said that I should have a taste of the ice cream at the Polish restaurant,” Aisha remarked.

Adrian Malinowski, Commissioner General of the Polish Section Expo 2020 Dubai, and Monika Dyląg-Sajór, Deputy Commissioner General, invited Aisha for a dinner at the Poland Pavilion’s restaurant and gifted her a commemorative set reflective of the pavilion’s respective zones.

Interest in the Poland Pavilion

Aside from the interesting exhibition, thanks to which international visitors can learn about the Polish culture, economy, and tourist landmarks, the Poland Pavilion also offers a wide range of events for children and adults, including daily programming workshops and recitals of Chopin’s music. Additional features include temporary exhibitions of the Pomeranian and Subcarpathian Provinces, and the Adam Mickiewicz Institute’s closing exhibition called “Wczasy” (“Holidays”). The content to be found in the Pavilion, the exhibition, and the surrounding events go to show that Poland is an interesting country, appealing in terms of its culture and tourist destinations, a place of creative and entrepreneurial people.

Even before the opening of the World Expo, the Poland Pavilion met with the considerable interest of the media in the UAE. The National deemed the Poland Pavilion to be one of the most spectacular exhibition spaces at Expo 2020 Dubai.

The Exhibitor – the American magazine devoted to the exhibition industry – is holding a vote for the best pavilion at Expo 2020 Dubai. The Poland Pavilion has made it to the shortlist. You can cast one vote each day until 15 March, directly at www.exhibitoronline.com/awards/expo/peoplesChoice-vote.asp.

Poland at Expo 2020 Dubai

The Poland Pavilion – over 2,000 sq. m of exhibition space with a wooden façade and peculiar kinetic sculpture symbolising a flock of birds – is one of the most popular at the Expo. The “Polish Table” multimedia art installation consisting of 120 wooden and special modules made by leading artists, architects, and engineers is a spectacular part of the exhibition. Poland shows creativity as its national feature – the source of economic, scientific, cultural, and social success. The Poland Pavilion’s narrative is comprised out of five chapters, all linked by the motto of “Poland. Creativity inspired by nature.”

World Expos are among the most prestigious events of promotional, economic, cultural, and tourist nature all across the world. Postponed by a year due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Expo 2020 Dubai is the first world’s fair to be organised in an Arab country, hosting around 200 countries, international organisations, and corporations. Poland’s participation in the Expo is coordinated by the Polish Investment and Trade Agency. The Dubai Expo ends on 31 March 2022.

Polish-African Economic Forum

One important business event at Expo 2020 Dubai will be the Polish-African Economic Forum planned for 28 March 2022.
