At Expo 2020 Dubai, Polish companies and start-ups offering solutions for the science and education sector and others presented applications, programs and tools that develop creativity and help to acquire new skills. They may soon become real export hits, also in the non-EU markets.
  • An educational laboratory based on programming, robotics and 3D printing is one of the breakthrough solutions of the Polish technology companies that was presented in the Poland Pavilion at Expo 2020 Dubai.
  • Innovative solutions for students, parents and teachers were discussed during the seminar entitled “EduTech Made In Poland. Trends and innovations” that took place on 20 November 2021 in the Poland Pavilion. The event was partnered by the Central House of Technology.
  • Polish companies successfully combine modern technologies with effective and appealing teaching methods. Brainly, a platform that operates in 35 countries and has got 350 million users in total, became a global success.
  • Poland ranked 24th in the 2020 DESI Ranking measuring the digitization of world economies and societies. The results demonstrate that open data, affordable prices of broadband networks, and cloud computing are our strengths.

Many of the events organized in the Poland Pavilion focused on education and new technologies that are turning teaching practices and methods around. The Pavilion also hosted an educational zone with toys, 3D printers and robots. Companies and start-ups working on modern tools also presented their achievements. One of them was the educational laboratory managed by Skriware. It includes, among other things, a 3D printer, educational robots, online modelling tools, and an online platform for teachers. SkriLab works perfectly during lessons and can be used to teach various school subjects: biology, physics, chemistry, geography and IT science.

The exhibition entitled “Art & Children” in the Poland Pavilion

For the purposes of a temporary exhibition held in the Poland Pavilion at Expo 2020 Dubai (from 1 to 5 November 2021), the Polish company Runvido delivered another modern technology – a mobile application based on augmented reality (AR). During the Art & Children exhibition, authored by Polish artist Sylwia Grochowska, the visitors could witness 14 large-format paintings. With the support of the applications, the children presented on posters would speak, move and quote passages by van Gogh, Hokusai, Warhol, Fangor, or Stryjeńska. The highlight of the exhibition was the presentation of a hologram prepared by one of the children dressed up as Frida Kahlo. Using a variety of tools and new technologies – photography, video, mobile applications, and holograms – the exhibition was intended to appeal to the visitors and make them open to new experiences. Runvido, whose application brought to life the paintings at the Art & Children exhibition, was founded in 2019. The team of 20 is composed of experts in artificial intelligence, machine learning, and augmented reality.
