September 4 – Young Poland Day

  • Presentation of Nobel Prize laureate Władysław Reymont.
  • Report from the Young Poland exhibition in Kyoto.
  • Audiovisual performance “Chłopi Tańcuj Remixed” featuring live music from the film “Chłopi” – Poland’s official Oscar candidate. The event will take place in a venue in Osaka.

September 5 – Dance and Music Across Generations Day

  • Papaya at the Expo – a performance by Urszula Dudziak in front of the Polish Pavilion.
  • A meeting in the Women’s Pavilion with Urszula Dudziak and Yuka Ebihara, a soloist of the National Theatre Ballet of Japanese origin.

September 6 – Polish Literature Day

  • National reading of Jan Kochanowski’s poetry translated into Japanese.
  • Meeting with Japanese translators of Polish literature.
  • Reading of excerpts from works by Polish writers and poets, including Olga Tokarczuk, Wisława Szymborska, and Jan Brzechwa.

September 4–6 – Unsound Festival

The first Japanese presentation of Poland’s most internationally acclaimed festival of alternative and electronic music. Polish and Japanese artists will perform in clubs across Osaka.


September 7–9 – Showcase of the Young Polish Jazz Scene

Showcase of the young Polish jazz scene in clubs across Osaka and during special concerts in the Chamber Hall of the Polish Pavilion. The program will also feature the premiere of a jazz concert suite composed by Nikola Kołodziejczyk especially for the Expo.
