Poland Pavilion at World Expo 2025 Osaka, Kansai, opened with the premiere of “Timeless Chopin”, the latest painting animation directed by Piotr Dominiak and created by the renowned BreakThru Films studio, known for award-winning titles such as “Loving Vincent” and “The Peasants.”

“Timeless Chopin” is a poetic and metaphorical tale about Polish creativity and the enduring influence of Fryderyk Chopin‘s legacy in the modern world. Polish pianist Paweł Popko stars in the role of Chopin, with scenes filmed at Chopin’s Birthplace in Żelazowa Wola, made available by the Fryderyk Chopin Institute. The film also features acclaimed Japanese pianist Aimi Kobayashi, a finalist and award winner at the prestigious International Chopin Piano Competition. The animation was created over four months by a team of ten painters from Poland, Ukraine, and Mexico. Soon, the original paintings from the animation will be available on timelesschopin.com.

The film is part of the artistic program of Poland Pavilion, organized by the Polish Investment and Trade Agency (PAIH) under the slogan: “Poland. Heritage that Drives the Future.” The pavilion, covering nearly 1,000 m² and located in the thematic zone “Saving Lives,” presents a unique blend of tradition and innovation, showcasing modern technologies alongside Polish cultural values, craftsmanship, music, and art.

Poland’s Cultural Program at EXPO 2025

Poland’s participation in EXPO 2025 includes over 100 events — ranging from conferences and debates to workshops and research projects — organized in collaboration with over 100 partner institutions. Exhibitions and concerts will also take place in various urban spaces of Osaka between April13 and October 13, 2025.

Among the highlights of the cultural program is the Peasants Dance Remixed in Osaka performance, scheduled for September 4 at the prestigious Sankei Hall Breeze — a state-of-the-art eco-friendly tower in the heart of the city. The show, previously met with great enthusiasm at COS Torwar in Warsaw and Centennial Hall in Wrocław, will be specially adapted for the more intimate stage of the Japanese venue.

Peasants Dance Remixed is an artistic journey where 19th-century painting comes to life through modern light design, folk music blends with electronic sounds, and traditional dance transforms into a contemporary performance. Visually striking and accessible to international audiences, the production offers a unique fusion of cultural heritage and modern expression. The project is delivered in cooperation with the Polish Investment and Trade Agency (PAIH) and co-financed by the Ministry of Culture and National Heritage of Poland.
