One million people have already discovered our exhibition, cultural events and regional weeks full of emotions. The Poland Pavilion in Osaka captivates with its intriguing visitor pathway, comes alive with colorful regional showcases and pulses with the energy of cultural and business events! Million of visitors is not only a number - it’s million of meetings, emotions and memories that creates the unique history of Poland at Expo.

One millionth visitor of Poland Pavilion at Expo 2025 in Osaka turned out to be a mother with her two kids – it was a truly amazing moment they will never forget. The lucky family got unique set of amazing souvenirs, took a part in a challah baking workshop and tried specials from Polish cuisine in our restaurant.

We are very happy because one million visitors is not only an impressive number, it’s proof that Poland speaks to the world with its authenticity, passion and cooperation. We have created a space where tradition meets with innovation in a very interesting, inspiring and easy to understand way for any visitor. Every day at Expo brings new stories, and positive reactions and emotions of our visitors confirm that the story we’re telling about Poland is moving, universal and worth continuing. – said Marta Zielińska, The Deputy Commissioner General of the Polish Section at Expo 2025, who personally welcomed the one-millionth visitor.

Poland Pavilion at Expo 2025 intrigues and amazes

Since its inauguration on April 13, 2025, the Poland Pavilion in Osaka has been attracting crowds of visitors every day. Right at the entrance, their attention is drawn to the Pavilion’s spiral wooden structure, which stands out as one of the most original architectural designs at Expo 2025. This unique building symbolizes growth, periodicity and movement – things that define today Poland as a dynamic country open for dialogue and progress.  It evokes associations with a spreading wave of Polish creativity and innovation, while also serving as a symbolic bridge connecting two distinct yet friendly cultures: Poland and Japan.

The permanent exhibition at the Poland Pavilion draws on Poland’s tradition and nature in an innovative way, while at the same time showcasing the country’s modern face – its greatest scientific, technological, economic, and cultural achievements.

High attendance, reaching up to around 6,000 visitors a day, resulted in one million guests within just five months of the Pavilion’s opening on April 13, 2025

What fascinates visitors  most about Poland Pavilion

The artistic installations in the permanent exhibition attract great interest from visitors, using the latest technologies to engage them and invite them to co-create the display.  „Spirit Plant” allows each visitor to create, with the help of a special algorithm, an individual parametric plant that can be downloaded to a mobile phone.  „Aura” is a natural, digitally controlled orchestra that organically brings to life the music of Fryderyk Chopin through more than one hundred independent modules. At the heart of each module lies a fragment of willow – a tree associated with Chopin and sourced from the area around Żelazowa Wola.  Plantation of Ideas „The Most Polish Landscape” uses artificial intelligence to capture the essence of Poland’s landscape and showcase its diversity. On a panoramic screen, AI-generated Polish sceneries evolve and transform in response to visitors’ movements.

„Plantation of Ideas” – the second part of the exhibition, dedicated to the economy – surprises visitors with a futuristic scenography of multiplying spheres, symbolizing the spread of Polish creativity. „Plantation of Ideas showcases the achievements of Polish companies in six economic sectors with strong growth potential, which are also key areas of cooperation between Poland and Japan. These include: agri-food, cosmetics, medical and pharmaceutical, IT/FinTech, green technologies (including hydrogen), and gamedev.

Polish cultural events at Expo – the key to visitor success

In addition to its engaging exhibition, the key to the Poland Pavilion’s attendance success is its rich calendar of concerts, regional showcases, workshops, and business meetings, all of which build the popularity and reach of Poland’s presentation.

Thousands of spectators were drawn by the diverse musical events organized by Poland. Among the highlights in Osaka were the performances of the Śląsk Song and Dance Ensemble during the Silesian Voivodeship Week (May 4–10), as well as the Mystkowianie Regional Ensemble and the Saga highlander band during the Małopolska Week (August 10–16). Massive audiences also attended monumental concerts, including the world premiere of the symphony “Symbiosis” by Łukasz L.U.C. Rostkowski, prepared for the grand finale of Poland’s Presidency of the European Union (June 30), and the spectacular show “Chłopi Tańcuj Remixed” (September 4), based on the music from The Peasants – Poland’s Oscar candidate.

As part of the Polish Culture Week in Osaka (September 4–10), festivals of electronic music Unsound and jazzy Jazz from Poland in Japan 2025 took place. A special highlight was the concert by Leszek Możdżer (April 24), performed on two pianos – one of them a decaphonic piano, an instrument with a ten-tone octave scale instead of the classical twelve.

The concert “Tender Strings” (August 29), held during Fryderyk Chopin Week (August 29 – September 4), enjoyed extraordinary popularity. Natalia Kukulska with her band, the National Philharmonic Orchestra, and guest artists involved in the project performed selected works by Fryderyk Chopin in the form of symphonic pieces with newly added lyrics. At the time, it was the only opportunity in the world to hear live verbal interpretations of the Polish composer’s works. Another highlight was the “Chopin Gala” (August 31), featuring musicians of the National Philharmonic alongside laureates of the International Fryderyk Chopin Piano Competition: Aimi Kobayashi and Krzysztof Jabłoński. Both concerts received standing ovations from the audience.

An opportunity to strengthen relations with Japan and the countries of the region

Poland’s participation in the World Expo in Osaka also includes an intensive program of business events aimed at strengthening trade and investment relations with Japan and the countries of the region. The presence of Polish companies at the Polish-Japanese Export Forum (May 20, 2025) and the Polish-Japanese Investment Forum (September 30, 2025) in Osaka provides an opportunity to showcase export offers, establish trade and partnership relations, and gain insights into the specifics of the Japanese market through direct contacts with local experts and entrepreneurs.

– Poland’s participation in Expo 2025 is not only an honor but also a global opportunity. We present to the world our cultural, scientific, and economic potential – from Chopin’s music to cutting-edge innovations. The main theme of Poland’s presence at Expo 2025, ‘Heritage that Drives the Future,’ expresses our ambition to show that the traditions Poles draw upon are also an inspiration for seeking new answers to the challenges of today. Expo is a space where we build economic relations and establish real business connections. The one million guests who have already visited the Poland Pavilion in Osaka confirm that Poland is a significant participant in the World Expo. In this way, we strengthen our international presence and attract global interest with our original approach to tradition, innovation, and dialogue,” emphasized Jacek Tomczak, Commissioner General of the Polish Section of World Expo 2025 Osaka, Kansai.
