The cosmetics industry

The cosmetics industry, including the production and distribution of care, beauty and hygienic products, is a key segment of the economies of many countries, directly influencing the quality of the consumers’ lives and creating health and beauty standards. According to forecasts in 2024, the amount of revenue from the sale of cosmetics in Poland will estimate around 6 billion USD.

The cosmetics industry in Poland

The cosmetics industry covers a wide spectrum of products from cosmetics for makeup and skin care to personal hygiene products.

Beauty and makeup preparations accounted for the highest share in the global export from Poland (49% in the cosmetics category); shaving preparations, deodorants (14% in the cosmetics category) and hair preparations (13% in the cosmetics category). Exports of cosmetics from Poland increased by almost 40% from 2019 to 2023. The largest increases in 2023 are visible in such categories as essential oils, fragrance mixtures, beautification and painting preparations.
