Pomorskie Region Days

Amber, Kashubian flowers, and folk-jazz – Pomorskie at Expo 2025.
Pomerania Region Days showcased handicrafts, amber inspirations, concerts by Zagan Acoustic, and Japanese-Polish highlights.
From May 25 to 29, 2025, the Pomorskie Voivodeship showcased itself at Expo in Osaka as a region inspired by the sea, tradition, and a modern approach to culture. The program combined elements of handicraft, music, and international cooperation.
Workshops: Amber and Paper Forms
Daily workshops were held under the title “Baltic Treasures – Inspired by Amber”, where visitors could learn about the symbolism and use of amber in Pomeranian culture. At the same time, the “Flowers of Unity” project was presented – a show blending Kashubian and Japanese paper art, during which handcrafted flowers inspired by both traditions were created.
Concerts by Zagan Acoustic
At the heart of the program were two concerts by the Zagan Acoustic ensemble, performing a repertoire titled “Folk & Jazz Fusion.” Known for their blend of musical genres and expressive sound, the group delivered performances combining chamber ambiance with stage energy. Zagan Acoustic has been performing across Poland and Europe for over 20 years, renowned for their virtuosity, sense of humor, and stylistic openness.
Artifact: Dance of the Elements
The presentation of the Pomorskie region was complemented by the “Dance of the Elements” installation, an artistic story about the people of Pomerania living in harmony with nature. This installation symbolized the deep connection of the region’s inhabitants with their surrounding environment, highlighting the importance of nature in shaping Pomorskie’s cultural identity.
The program also included a screening of a regional promotional film and an animation set to the music of Fryderyk Chopin, rounding out the presentation of Pomerania by showcasing both the landscapes and heritage as well as the contemporary character of the region.
