Unique May 3 Constitution Day at Expo 2025 in Osaka

On May 3, 2025, we celebrated the 234th anniversary of the May 3 Constitution, the second constitution in the world and the first in Europe, at the Osaka Expo.
The ceremony, opened by Marta Zielinska, Deputy Commissioner General of the Polish Section at Expo 2025, was attended by distinguished guests, Delegations from the Lodz Region, the Silesia Region, Śląsk Song and Dance Ensemble and Guests from Japan – the Kansai Poland Dance Lovers Group, who have been promoting Polish folk dances in Japan for almost 20 years, and authorities and children from the Polish friendly city of Ena.
The Polonaise dance danced in front of the Pavilion to the music of Wojciech Kilar, the joint singing of “Welcome, May’s Morning Star” and the passage of the polonaise step to the rhythm of a joint dance brought the participants into a unique and emotional atmosphere.
The celebration was topped off by an evening concert by the Śląsk Song and Dance Ensemble on the stage of the Expo Festival Station, which presented a specially prepared artistic program with a surprise at the end – a moment that will surely live long in the memory of the participants, a touching song sung by the Ensemble in Japanese.
On that day, both Poland and Japan shared their culture, traditions and values, and the event at Expo 2025 became an unforgettable symbol of international cooperation and celebration of national heritage.
