We already know who will build the Poland Pavilion at the EXPO 2020 World Exhibition in Dubai!
The works for the construction of the Poland Pavilion at the EXPO 2020 World Exhibition in Dubai are due to start soon. The task of creating our country’s architectural showpiece has once again been entrusted to a consortium of Polish companies – Międzynarodowe Targi Poznańskie together with FM Aldentro. The Poland Pavilion will be the main arena for the presentation of Poland during the EXPO 2020 World Exhibition in Dubai. The leading themes of the exhibition recommended by the organisers – sustainability and mobility – are elaborated by Poland in three subject areas: technology, international cooperation and nature. The theme of the Poland Pavilion is Creativity inspired by nature.
“FM ALDENTRO sp. z o.o. is part of the ATM Grupa S.A. capital group. For instance, our team constructed the exhibition halls of the State Delegations during the COP24 Climate Congress in Katowice”, adds Filip Majchrowski, President of the Management Board of FM ALDENTRO.
“The Poland Pavilion is already considered an iconic building in Dubai. The general contractor thus faces a real challenge to turn a perfect project into an implementation which in October will become a spectacular carrier of information about our country. We appreciate the combination of the competencies of the consortium of Międzynarodowe Targi Poznańskie and FM Aldentro, and we are glad to start the works over a year before the beginning of the event. We plan to start the construction of the Pavilion this year”, says Monika Dyląg-Sajór, coordinator of the EXPO Dubai 2020 project in the Polish Investment and Trade Agency.
The contract for the “design, construction, technical maintenance and dismantling of the Poland Pavilion at the EXPO 2020 World Exhibition in Dubai, United Arab Emirates” consists of three stages, including but not limited to developing the design documentation for the Poland Pavilion, obtaining building permits and the Organiser’s permits, constructing the Poland Pavilion together with installations, interior design of the building and exhibition, ongoing technical maintenance of the building and exhibition, as well as dismantling the Poland Pavilion after the end of the EXPO 2020 World Exhibition in Dubai.
Poland Pavilion – a multithreaded story about Polish nature, creativity and innovation
The competition for the conceptual design of the Poland Pavilion and the internal exhibition for the EXPO 2020 World Exhibition in Dubai was won by the WXCA studio based in Warsaw. The Pavilion’s architecture refers clearly to the theme of mobility. It creates an open, upwards growing modular structure that invites visitors to relax in the shadow of a large roofing and to contemplate the installation floating above their heads – a kinetic sculpture depicting a flock of flying birds.
The wealth of nature, diversity of the landscape and strategic location in the centre of Europe make Poland the most important habitat for European migratory birds. Inviting the visitors to take part in this journey and look at the abundance of Polish avifauna is an opportunity to develop an intriguing multithreaded story not only about the beauty of Polish nature, but primarily about international exchange, mobility, the export of ideas and technological thought. Poland will be represented as a strong centre of cooperation that uses scientific development to offer the world sustainable and eco-friendly technologies inspired by nature.
