On September 30, in one of Japan’s most prestigious concert halls - The Symphony Hall in Osaka - the concert “Polish Constellations” will take place, serving as the culmination of Poland’s cultural promotion program at the World Expo 2025.

This exceptional event will bring together Polish composer Radzimir Dębski (JIMEK), a group of Polish musicians, and the Japanese Amabile Philharmonic Orchestra, serving as a symbolic culmination of several months of Poland’s presence at the World Expo. The concert is an artistic expression of the guiding idea of the Poland Pavilion – “Heritage that Drives the Future.” It demonstrates that Polish culture is not merely a memory of the past, but a living, creative force that inspires and connects people across borders.

JIMEK – the creator of a new musical language

Radzimir Dębski is one of the most recognizable Polish composers of the younger generation, whose work defies traditional musical categories. He blends his own compositions with hip-hop, film music, jazz, and electronic sounds, creating original projects that gain acclaim worldwide. His concerts, often staged in unconventional spaces for symphonic music, have become a symbol of a fresh approach to the orchestra and modern artistic storytelling.

It will be extraordinary to hear Polish hip-hop, my film compositions, wild, serious, and even pieces with elements of Polish folklore, performed by a Japanese orchestra in Japan – says JIMEK.

In “Polish Constellations,” the composer will guide the audience on a journey through Polish identity and sensibility, demonstrating how heritage can inspire the contemporary world.

Polish musicians and the Japanese  Amabile Philharmonic Orchestra

JIMEK will be accompanied on stage by outstanding Polish instrumentalists representing a variety of musical styles and traditions. Special roles in the ensemble are held by Jose Manuel Alban Juarez, a percussionist and multi-instrumentalist known for projects blending ethnic music with jazz and contemporary sounds, and Igor Falecki, one of Europe’s most talented young percussionists. The orchestra’s percussion section will feature Zofia Przybył, Olga Przybył, Krzysztof Niezgoda, and Piotr Połaniecki. The Japanese  Amabile Philharmonic Orchestra will also perform; they previously took part in the Symphony Symbiosis project under the baton of Łukasz “L.U.C.” Rostkowski, becoming an important partner in fostering an artistic dialogue between Poland and Japan.

Not only music

Symphony Hall in Osaka is a special venue – the first concert hall in Japan built specifically for symphonic music. Renowned for its excellent acoustics and prestigious artistic program, it regularly hosts world-famous orchestras and soloists. Choosing this space for the final concert underscores the significance of the event and its international dimension. The Polish Constellations concert will be an audiovisual experience. The Polish ensemble has prepared special visualizations designed to complement the music and deepen its message. The visual component will serve as a second narrator, immersing the audience in a world of symbols and metaphors. Projections will feature motifs of space and exploration, reflecting the idea of viewing Poland from a distance. Constellations will form images of figures such as Copernicus, Lem, and Wyspiański, alongside elements inspired by Penderecki’s scores. Floral motifs referencing Polish tradition will be combined with the aesthetics of Japanese Zen philosophy, creating a visual dialogue between the two cultures.

The culmination of Poland’s program at Expo

Polish Constellations will close Poland’s largest-ever cultural program at the Expo. Over several months in Osaka, dozens of events took place – from concerts and exhibitions to visual arts projects and regional showcases. Each was part of a larger narrative in which Poland shared its creativity and identity with the world. These events included the Symphony Symbiosis concert, organized by Łukasz “L.U.C.” Rostkowski, the Jazz Suite specially created for the Expo by Nikola Kołodziejczyk, the first Asian edition of the Unsound festival, as well as numerous presentations highlighting the richness of Polish regions. The final concert will complete this story, presenting Poland as a country that draws from its traditions while boldly looking to the future.

A Finale Full of Meaning

When the final notes resonate in Symphony Hall, Poland will demonstrate that its heritage is not a closed chapter of the past, but a living creative force capable of inspiring the world and creating new spaces for dialogue. The Polish Constellations concert will be not only an artistic event but also a symbol of cooperation and mutual understanding – the core message of Expo 2025.
