Poland Pavilion at Expo in Osaka

For the World Expo 2025 in Osaka, Kansai, Poland has prepared a national pavilion of nearly 1,000 m². Its unique architecture spirals from a central point where the concert hall is located. The organic form of the building, based on curves and arches, leads visitors intuitively along a spiral path to the heart of Poland Pavilion.

We are proud to present Poland as a country deeply rooted in tradition, yet dynamically developing and ready to face the challenges of the future. Poland Pavilion at Expo 2025 is more than just a building – it is a thoughtful architectural concept where our values, heritage and creative energy meet. At its heart resounds the music of Frederic Chopin, and the façade refers to the craftsmanship of Japanese craft, symbolically linking our cultures. We have created an open, innovative and friendly space to inspire and invite collaboration. Poland wants to be perceived as a reliable partner – both in the sphere of culture and business,‘ emphasised Jacek Tomczak, Commissioner General of the Polish Section of the World Expo 2025 Osaka, Kansai, during the opening ceremony of the Pavilion.

The distinctive wooden façade of Poland Pavilion is inspired by the traditional Kigumi Koho wood joining technique. It is a nod to the heritage of both Japanese and Polish building crafts. The interior of the Pavilion is filled with modern, interactive art installations that reflect the dynamic spirit of the Polish innovators, without forgetting the deep roots in tradition. The Polish-Spanish duo Alicja Kubicka and Borja Martínez are responsible for developing the architectural concept.

Poland Pavilion’s tour path

The tour path of Poland Pavilion shows how nature and technology can be harmoniously combined. The exhibitions inspire a critical appraisal of mankind’s attitude towards nature and confront the question of what the future we are striving for together will look like.

‘Visitors to Poland Pavilion embark on an extraordinary journey that connects nature with technology and history with the future. Each element of the pathway – from an animated herbarium to a digital orchestra to a space that inspires reflection on ideas – has been designed to engage the senses and emotions. We want the experience of visiting to be not only aesthetically pleasing, but also educational and stimulating. Our aim was to create a place that stays in the memory, moves you and makes you rediscover Poland – as a creative, open and technologically advanced country,‘ said Magdalena Skarżyńska, Vice President of the Management Board of the Polish Investment and Trade Agency.

‘Poland Pavilion was designed as a space that inspires, engages and remains in the memory long after the visit. From the beginning, our aim was to create a place that tells the story of Poland – its heritage, creativity and technological potential – in a modern way. By combining art, science and emotion, we invite visitors to rediscover Poland as a country that is open, innovative and ready for international cooperation. We believe that such an experience fosters lasting relationships – both on a cultural and economic level,’ concluded Eliza Klonowska-Siwak, Deputy Commissioner General of the Polish Section of the World Expo 2025 Osaka, Kansai
