Poland Pavilion at Expo 2025
“The World Expo 2025 is an opportunity to promote Poland on the international stage, as well as a space to build relationships and exchange experiences at the highest level. In a world that is changing at a rapid pace, we are showing Poland as a country that combines tradition with modernity, and our innovative approach to technology, sustainable development and international cooperation. I am convinced that our presence in Osaka will contribute to establishing long-term partnerships and strengthen Poland’s position as a significant player on the global economic and cultural stage” – says Jacek Tomczak, Commissioner General of the Polish Section of the World Exhibition Expo 2025 Osaka, Kansai.
During the World Exhibition in Osaka, Poland will present modern technologies and solutions, and at the same time will refer to traditional values that are the foundation of Polish society. On the one hand, Poland will show innovative technologies related to green energy, digital transformation, artificial intelligence, and on the other hand, traditional elements of culture, craftsmanship, music and art.
In Poland Pavilion, visitors can expect a number of unique interactive installations. One of them, entitled “Spirit Plant”, introduces visitors to the world of power drawn from herbs and their use in healing. The artistic project engages visitors, who become its co-creators. The created plant can be downloaded to a phone and shared on social media. “Generations” is a dynamic gallery that uses parametric “Spirit Plant” plants created by the guests of the Pavilion. The animated herbarium “Seven Herbs” acquaints visitors with the tradition of Polish herbalism, while also referring to the history of the Polish school of illustration. “The Most Polish Landscape” consists of visualizations prepared using artificial intelligence, which are created before the eyes of visitors. Beautiful landscapes are ideal representations of the Polish landscape. “Aura” is a unique digitally controlled orchestra, organically extracting sounds from natural materials and combining technology with traditional crafts.
Poland Pavilion will feature variations on the works of Frederic Chopin, folk music and the sounds of nature. The installation “Pre-Spring” shows the changeability of Polish nature. It is a unique combination of biological knowledge and art. In turn, the composition “Verses” harmoniously combines what is Japanese with what is Polish by placing hundreds of haiku poems by Polish haijins in space. In one of the halls, daily piano recitals are planned, and the works of the Polish composer will be played by participants of Chopin competitions for six months, three times a day.
The “Plantation of Ideas” zone presents innovative solutions related to the economy, business and science. It was decided to highlight ideas related to six sectors of the Polish economy that may arouse the interest of the Japanese, including the medical and pharmaceutical, cosmetics, IT/Fintech, green technologies (including hydrogen), agri-food (including AgriTech) and gaming industries.
In addition, the Polish attendance program includes, among other things, regional and thematic weeks, such as the Days of Polish Science and Education, the Week of Polish Culture, the Week of Frederic Chopin, the Week of Sport and Tourism. The Podlaski Region will be the first to present itself in the Pavilion. Guests have the opportunity to watch a unique spectacle, see a martial arts show and listen to a concert by the duo Sw@da & Niczos.
In total, the Polish Promotion Programme at EXPO 2025 in Osaka includes over 100 events – from conferences and debates to workshops and research projects, carried out in cooperation with 100 partner institutions.
