Audience co-creators of unusual musical performance at Poland Pavilion

“Aura” is a sound and visual art installation consisting of more than a hundred independent modules. The installation artistically transforms Chopin’s works, including references to folk music and the sounds of nature. The sounds are produced by a digitally controlled “orchestra”, using the sound of natural materials. At the heart of this “instrument” are fragments of willow, associated with Chopin and obtained from the Żelazowa Wola area.

Poland Pavilion also hosts piano recitals in the Performance Hall three times a day throughout Expo 2025 – from April 13 to October 13. Among others, the works of the great Polish composer are played by participants of the Chopin Competitions.

The World Exposition will also include a presentation of the film “Timeless Chopin”, specially prepared for Poland Pavilion. The plot of the animation produced by the Break Thru-studio, winner of the Academy Award for Best Animated Short Film – centers around the message that great talent combined with determination makes it possible to achieve one’s goals against all obstacles and difficulties.

Fryderyk Chopin Week at Expo 2025

The events planned at the Pavilion will culminate in Fryderyk Chopin Week – from August 28 to September 3.

It is then that Expo 2025 is scheduled to feature a performance by the National Philharmonic with Japanese Chopin Competition winner Aimi Kobayashi and concerts of jazz music inspired by Chopin’s works. The film “Pianoforte”, showing the backstage of the 18th Chopin Competition and the stories of its selected participants, will also be screened during these days. In addition, there will be a meeting on the subject of Fryderyk Chopin’s letters. Visitors will be able to take part in a contest of knowledge about the composer’s life and works, and participate in piano workshops – they will compose simple musical fragments in Chopin’s style thanks to special touch screens.

On August 29, singer Natalia Kukulska and conductor, composer and pianist Adam Sztaba, along with musicians of the National Philharmonic Orchestra, will perform in the “Tender Strings” concert, performing vocal and symphonic arrangements of Chopin’s works.
