From 22 to 26 April, Poland Pavilion at Expo 2025 Osaka, Kansai is hosting Polish Science and Education Days - five days of encounters with innovation, inspiring knowledge and outstanding representatives of the world of science. Polish universities, research institutions and educational organisations will present scientific achievements and modern approaches to education, as well as answers to the most important challenges of the modern world, such as sustainable development, future technologies or achievements of women in science.

Each day of the event will have a unique theme – from technological innovation and space exploration to the role of women in science and medicine for the planet. Visitors at the Expo will be able to attend conferences, workshops, interactive demonstrations and meetings with scientists and students.

Polish science, technology and education at a global level

The science week opened with Polish Earth Day, 22 April – with an opening ceremony attended by the Undersecretary of State at the Ministry of Science and Higher Education and workshops on building solar boats and unmanned vehicles. On that day, ASTOR will also present the ASTORINO educational robot. An important highlight will be a ceremony to symbolically plant Polish trees at the Osaka Conservatory campus.

The programme of NAWA Day, 23 April, was focused on the internationalisation of Polish science and education. Visitors to Poland Pavilion were able to take part in debates, presentations, language games and seminars on studying in Poland.

The cosmic accent of the event is the Polish Space Day, on 24 April, under the patronage of Dr Sławosz Uznański – the first Polish man preparing to fly to the International Space Station.  On that day, science will meet art, offering visitors astronomy workshops, constellation-setting field games and manga comic painting with Copernicus. At the end, Leszek Możdżer, the world-renowned jazz pianist and composer, will play a premiere concert on two pianos, including a decaphonic piano. This is the world’s first instrument to have a ten-tone octave scale instead of the classical twelve. The event will take place outside the Expo grounds exceptionally, at the Higashiosaka Cultural Creation Hall in Osaka. Free tickets can be obtained by registering at expo.gov.pl.

Polish Women in Science Day, on 25 April, will bring an international conference with female researchers from Poland, Japan, France and Israel. The programme will include exhibitions, workshops in physics and retro fashion, and a project entitled ‘ The Cipher Girls’ – the story of 20 women from around the world involved in espionage activities, including a presentation of the ENIGMA phenomenon.

It concludes on 26 April with the Polish Medicine for the Planet Day, a look at the role of life sciences, technology and medicine in building a better future for people and the environment.

The performances and attractions of the Polish Science and Education Days will accompany visitors to Expo 2025 from 22 April to 26 April. In order to take full advantage of this unique programme, you will need to book a place in Poland Pavilion during your visit to Expo using the venue booking system on the organiser’s website.
