The Green energy industry in Poland
Between 1990-2022, the share of renewable energy sources increased from 1.30% to 16.70% and the usage of fossil fuel as energy has been significantly reduced.
The development of renewable energy sources in Poland is diverse. It does not focus on one or a few technologies but covers almost the entire spectrum of green energy sources – photovoltaics, wind energy, hydropower and biomass energy.
Poland produces 1.3 million tons of hydrogen per year and is the 3rd largest producer in
European Union, after the Netherlands and Germany, and 5th in the world. Poland has also the potential for significant production of so-called “green hydrogen” with the usage of renewable energy.
