During an official visit to Poland Pavilion at Expo 2025 Osaka, Kansai, Sebastian Mikosz, President of the Management Board of Poczta Polska, presented a unique collector’s postage stamp issued specially to mark Poland’s participation in the World Expo.

“The stamp issue is an artistic and innovative contribution by Poczta Polska to promoting our country as a place of dynamic development and creativity. For us, this stamp is more than just a philatelic curiosity – it is a symbol of the partnership and openness that Poland brings to the international dialogue. I hope it will become a keepsake of the meetings and inspirations we share here at Poland Pavilion,” said Sebastian Mikosz, President of the Management Board of Poczta Polska.

The philatelic issue includes:

  • A postage stamp with a face value of 12 PLN, measuring 31.25 mm × 43 mm, designed by Roch Stefaniak, printed in an edition of 90,000 copies using offset printing on fluorescent paper;
  • A First Day Cover (FDC) – an envelope bearing the postage stamp, postmarked with a special postmark on the first day of issue, featuring a commemorative stamp dated April 13, 2025, the opening day of Expo;
  • A special commemorative postmark inspired by a bird’s-eye view of Poland Pavilion.

The central theme of the entire issue is the modern architectural form of Poland Pavilion at Expo 2025. Its dynamic shapes, reminiscent of ripples spreading across water, symbolize the intellectual and cultural energy driving the country’s development.

Poland’s motto for its presence at Expo – “Poland. Heritage that drives the future” / “Polska. Dziedzictwo, które napędza przyszłość” – appears on both the stamp and the FDC envelope, highlighting the role of historical and cultural heritage as the foundation for modern solutions.

The release of the collector’s stamp is part of a promotional program accompanying Poland’s presence at the World Expo, aimed at strengthening economic and cultural cooperation with partners from Japan, Asia, and around the world. It also supports building Poland’s image as a country of creative people – innovative and deeply aware of its heritage as a source of identity, inspiration, and creative energy.
