In the heart of Poland Pavilion at Expo 2025 in Osaka, in the Chamber Room, the inauguration ceremony of the next Region Week was held, with the Silesia Region as the main character.

The meeting was opened by Marta Zielińska, Deputy Commissioner General of the Polish Section at Expo 2025, and the Silesia Region was introduced on the Expo stage by Leszek Pietraszek, Deputy Marshal of the Silesia Region, Marcin Krupa, Mayor of the City of Katowice, Prof. Grzegorz Hańderek, Rector of the Academy of Fine Arts and Prof. Ryszard Koziołek – Rector of the University of Silesia.

During the ceremony, a promotional film of the region was premiered, as well as a short animation with Fryderyk Chopin as a guide to the region, which vigorously announces a week in the rhythm of Silesia! The ceremony was topped, as always, by a magnificent performance by the choir of the Śląsk Song and Dance Ensemble.

In the following days, Poland Pavilion will come alive with Silesian creativity and energy! The Region Week program will feature colorful toy painting workshops, meetings with cult heroes of Polish animation from the Drawing Film Studio, and a polonaise dance lesson performed by the Śląsk Song and Dance Ensemble. The University of Silesia invites you to an explosion of scientific passion as part of the Silesian Science Festival and the Green Zone of Science – and to inspiring Polish language classes conducted by the School of Polish Language and Culture. And for the youngest? The magical world of Silesian monsters and theatrical puppets, which will be opened to children by the “Ateneum” Puppet and Actor Theater.

The schedule for each day will be available on @polandatexpo social media channels.
