Expo is a collaborative project. According to the slogan of the exhibition “Connecting Minds, Creating the Future”, several dozen public and private entities are involved in preparing Poland for participation in Expo 2020 Dubai.

 

  • The Ministry of Development, Labour and Technology

     

    The Ministry of Development, Labour and Technology is responsible for the “Expo Exhibitions” project, which was created to present the potential of the Polish economy and the products and achievements of Polish entrepreneurs at large promotional events around the world. The well-thought-out and attractive presentation of a broad representation of Polish companies at exhibitions of the importance of Expo, is a valuable instrument of foreign expansion. It is a way to support the development of industries with export potential and provide entrepreneurs with tools that help them acquire foreign markets.
    The Ministry coordinates the preparations for Poland’s participation in Expo 2020 Dubai, in close cooperation with the Commissioner General of the Polish Section of the World Exhibition Expo 2020 Dubai and the Polish Investment and Trade Agency.

  • The Ministry of Education and Science

     

    The Ministry of Education and Science, in cooperation with the Copernicus Science Centre and NAWA, will organize a week devoted to Polish science, correlated with the Polish Science Day at the exhibition. Participants will see, among other things, the “Naukobus” mobile laboratory and a multimedia exhibition presenting the achievements of Polish science. The best Polish universities will be supported by NAWA at the GESS Fair which is to be held in Dubai at the same time. The Ministry of Education and Science has also declared financial support for activities related to the organization of internships for students from selected Polish universities involved in servicing the Polish Pavilion.

  • The Ministry for Climate and the Environment

     

    The Ministry for Climate and the Environment, together with partners, will prepare a week-long presentation in the temporary exhibition zone of the Polish Pavilion. It will be the story of Poland’s natural wealth, its people and new technologies. The aim of the presentation is to build Poland’s image as a country that uses natural resources responsibly, a country which effectively combines elements of climate and environmental protection with dynamic economic growth and social development. The project also includes a number of pre-exhibition educational activities that will be targeted at the general public. The presentation is a joint project between Central and Local Government and representatives of the world of academia and business, implemented by the Institute of Environmental Protection – the National Research Institute with the Marshal’s Office of Podlaskie Voivodeship, Bialystok University of Technology, the University of Bialystok and the Unitalent Foundation. This partnership will permit sufficient scale to strengthen the message. In addition to preparing the exhibition, the Ministry is actively involved in activities promoting the transformation of Poland’s transport sector towards zero emissions. The National Climate Change Centre (IOŚ-PIB) has prepared a number of initiatives that present Poland’s potential and experience in this area. One of the planned events is a panel discussion entitled “Driving Change Together” with the participation of the Minister of Climate and Environment, Michał Kurtyka.

  • The Ministry of Development Funds and Regional Policy

     

    The Ministry of Development Funds and Regional Policy (MFiPR) is participating in the preparations for Poland’s presentation during the World Exhibition Expo 2020 Dubai by actively engaging in work on the Program Concept, attending statute meetings and substantive consultations in line with the competences of the Ministry. In particular, MFiPR is supporting the Expo 2020 Dubai Team with the economic program, the key element of Poland’s presence at the World Exhibition. Expo 2020 Dubai is also an opportunity to promote Poland as the organizer of the World City Forum and the achievements of our country in the area of urban planning and urban policy.

  • The Polish Agency for Enterprise Development

     

    For many years, the Polish Agency for Enterprise Development (PARP) has been involved in preparing presentations at World and International Expo Exhibitions. PARP was responsible for the construction of the Polish pavilions and the organization of our country’s participation in the Expo in Zaragoza (2008), Shanghai (2010), Milan (2015) and Astana (2017). Each time we try to ensure that Polish small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) benefit from Poland’s presence at the Expos. This time will be no different. During Expo 2020 in Dubai, PARP is a key partner of the economic program, coordinating, inter alia, the “Go to Brand” program, national stands at Dubai’s fairs, as part of the industry Promotion Programs – Arab Health (in 2021 and 2022), Gitex (in 2020 and 2021) and Middle East Energy (in 2022), as well as economic missions and business meetings, in particular those that will accompany the Poland-UAE Economic Forum.   • The National Centre for Research and Development

     

    For the upcoming Expo, the National Centre for Research and Development (NCBR) is offering a number of opportunities to support entry into the world of innovation. These include virtual walks around modern Polish laboratories, showing where and how ground-breaking projects are created. In addition, NCBR plans virtual information and business meetings with entrepreneurs who, with the support of NCBR, have implemented innovative projects. These will include projects of particular interest to the inhabitants of the Middle East, such as those that can fight drought or ensure the safety of airspace around airports. All activities will be accessible to people with disabilities.

  • The Industrial Development Agency

     

    During Expo 2020 Dubai, the Industrial Development Agency (ARP) plans to present its offer in the following sectors: offshore wind energy, the gaming market and space technologies. As part of our offer, we plan to implement the following activities: a virtual presentation of the different areas of the Agency’s activity, a presentation of information about the offshore sector in Poland and the space and gaming industries (two or three separate presentations), as well as what the Agency has to offer for journalists.

  • The Polish Chamber of Commerce

     

    The Polish Chamber of Commerce is the largest, independent business organization in Poland. Currently, it represents the greatest number of entrepreneurs, associating 160 business organizations across industry, regional, and bilateral chambers, as well as other organizations (associations, employers’ confederations, foundations).
    The Polish Chamber of Commerce supports the interests of Polish entrepreneurs, engages in international cooperation, organizes economic conferences and congresses, promotes Polish exports, and implements EU projects. Over the last 30 years, the Polish Chamber of Commerce has been actively promoting the idea of self-government as an indispensable element of a modern state. Through the activity of its Foreign Relations Department, the Polish Chamber of Commerce actively promotes Polish enterprises in international markets. Working in cooperation with local partners across the world and government agencies, we specialize in organizing foreign promotional events, such as international fairs, business missions, economic forums, and B2B meetings.
    Drawing on our experience with previous world expositions (in Hanover and Aichi) as well as with preparing the presentations of Polish firms at Expos, including in Milan (2015) and Astana (2017), this time we are again supporting the Expo Team in pursuing the economic agenda and promotional objectives for Polish enterprises both before and during the Expo in Dubai.

  • The Adam Mickiewicz Institute

     

    During the World Exhibition Expo 2020 in Dubai, The Adam Mickiewicz Institute will implement a program presenting Polish Culture, which will include interactive artistic and cultural events, presenting both the diversity of Polish culture and the creativity of Polish artists. The program will also include exhibitions with workshop elements, presenting areas of contemporary Polish architecture, Polish design and new technologies. Our presence in the Polish Pavilion will be inaugurated with an interactive exhibition referring to the figure of Stanisław Lem and his novel "Solaris". We will also present an exhibition built around the important role a table plays in family and Polish cultural life, as well as its role in Christmas tradition. At the end of our program and the entire Expo - there will be an exhibition devoted to Polish architectural thought.

  • GovTech Polska

     

    GovTech Polska primarily supports talented, small and medium-sized enterprises in the field of IT. As part of our involvement in Expo 2020 Dubai, programs are being prepared that will allow the most talented creators to present their solutions to the international community at Expo. As part of the promotion of Polish solutions, an international event related to the GovTech industry will be held.

  • the Polish Space Agency

     

    One of the priorities of the Polish Space Agency (POLSA) is to support Polish entities in the space sector and to promote their potential in the international arena. Every year POLSA actively participates in events aimed at making it easier for Polish companies to find foreign partners for joint ventures. Expo is the only event of this type that allows for the integration and penetration not only of the business, economic and scientific world, but also the world of different cultures and traditions. Meetings and presentations during Expo enable participants to earn from others’ experiences, understand the conditions, and presentation their own achievements in these many intertwining spheres.

  • the Polish Tourism Organization

     

    The goal of the Polish Tourism Organization during Expo will be to promote Poland by building a positive image of the country as a destination for both tourists and business travellers, by presenting a broad, interesting and competitive offer for everyone arriving in Poland. In 2021–2022, the following activities are planned on the UAE market: an internet or social media campaign targeted at potential tourists, activities to show Poland as an attractive destination at the ATM fair in Dubai, and at industry events organized during Expo 2020 Dubai.

  • the Lower Silesian Region

     

    The leitmotif presented by the Lower Silesian Region during the World Exhibition Expo 2020 Dubai will be water – an invaluable source of life. The exhibition being prepared by the Water Knowledge Centre, Hydropolis, will broadly present this topic. This is inextricably linked with Lower Silesia due to its capital, Wrocław, among other things, which is known as the „city of a hundred bridges”. The Oder and many smaller rivers flow through Lower Silesia, and thanks to the, the city and the region is very accessible. The Lower Silesian Region has the largest number of classified health resorts/spas in Poland, including the oldest one in Cieplice, which dates back to the 13th century. Tourists are attracted by the healing springs. The region also boasts the Milicz Ponds, which are the largest complex of fish ponds in Europe, covering 750,000 hectares. The reserve belongs to the prestigious group of “Living Lakes”. There is also plenty of water to be found in Lower Silesia, in unusual examples, such as the colourful lakes in the Rudawy Landscape Park, which delight with their variety of colours, or the underground waterfall in the Gold Mine in Złoty Stok. We encourage everyone to visit Lower Silesia and immerse themselves in the beauty and uniqueness of our region.

  • the Kuyavian-Pomeranian Region

     

    At Expo 2020 Dubai, the Kuyavian-Pomeranian Region will be presented as a great place not only to admire the beauty of nature and relax actively, but also to enjoy the benefits of spa medicine. The region will present its astronomical heritage, by allowing visitors to observe the sky, and its cultural heritage, by demonstrating its traditions; with folk dancing workshops and giving them the opportunity to bake their own gingerbread. An international hackathon is planned and students from the region and across the Middle East will be invited. We are also planning to organize a trade mission to the Arab Health medical trade fair among others.

  • The Silesian Region

     

    The Silesian Region is unique in many respects. It was shaped on the basis of complex historical and social events. The shape, character and uniqueness of this region is due to the imagination and creativity of the many generations inhabiting this area. One cannot talk about the Silesian Region in just one way, but in many ways. During Expo 2020 Dubai, we will tell our story by following the thread from which Koniaków lace makers create one of the flagship products of our region. Koniaków lace will be the theme through which to show the diversity, complexity and wealth of the Silesian Region and its inhabitants. The presentation will be based on both traditional and modern elements, by highlighting the changes and showing it as “the region of the future”. We plan to organize a conference on economic issues, games and activities in the Children’s Zone, presentations of Silesian cuisine, fashion shows of Koniaków lace and other attractions, using multimedia and social media. We will cooperate closely with the Embassy of the Republic of Poland in the UAE and above all, with the Polish Investment and Trade Agency and their Foreign Trade Office in Dubai.

  • The Lublin Region

     

    The Lublin Region’s exhibition at Expo 2020 in Dubai is planned for February 2022, during the Gulfood Fair. The main theme of the voivodeship’s exhibition is the slogan: “Lublin Region – the Granary of Poland”. Lublin is famous for its ecological agriculture and local agri-food processing industry that is based on natural products and technological solutions for plant production that favor the natural environment and limit the use of chemicals in agriculture. The leading symbols of the exhibition will be a busy bee, fruit, herbs and picturesque green areas. The goal is to present Lublin as a region with unique natural beauty, and as an innovative and dynamically-developing center of science and education. Lublin will be promoted through the presentation of its potential in terms of its agri-food processing, medicine and tourism industries. Visitors will be able to participate in handicraft and robotic workshops as well as artistic performances.

  • the Lubusz Region

     

    The aim of the Lubusz Region at the Expo in Dubai is to present the economic and tourist potential of our region on the international arena. Our trade mission, will enable the establishment of direct business relations between Lubusz SMEs and entrepreneurs from the UAE. The achievements of companies from the Lubusz Region on the Arab market will be presented at a specially-organized conference in the Polish Pavilion. Our mission foresees meetings with institutions and organizations supporting entrepreneurship, such as the Polish Business Group, the PAIH Foreign Trade office in Dubai and the Dubai Chamber of Commerce and Industry, while the conference will be enriched by the participation of our leading players operating in the UAE. On the tourist front, with an area of over 100 m2, visitors will be able to stroll along the paths of the “Łuk Mużakowa” Landscape Park, which is on the UNESCO heritage list, and listen to the sounds of birds in the “Warta Estuary National Park”.

  • the Lodz Region

     

    The leitmotif of the interactive presentation of the Lodz Region will be the textile industry, in relation to the historical traditions of the region, right up to modern technologies in the field of creating fabrics, with the participation of companies and research centres located in the region. The exhibition will be accompanied by promotion of the highest-quality regional food products from Lodz, a trade seminar, an artistic program and workshops for both children and adults, with the participation of folk artists from the region.

  • the Podkarpackie Region

     

    The Marshal’s Office of the Podkarpackie Region is preparing a week-long presentation in the temporary exhibition zone of the Polish Pavilion. The theme will be Ignacy Łukasiewicz and oil. An attractive narrative about the beginnings of oil extraction is planned, which will serve to present Poland’s role as a precursor of the oil industry.

  • The Podlaskie Region

     

    The Marshal’s Office of the Podlaskie Region is preparing a presentation in the temporary exhibition zone of the Pavilion of Poland. The theme will be a tree as a symbol of nature. Nature is inextricably linked to this region which has been using the promotional slogan: PODLASKIE. POWERD BY NATURE. The XYLOPOLIS 2020 exhibition in Dubai is a joint project of the Marshal’s Office of Podlaskie Region, the Unitalent Foundation, Bialystok University of Technology, the University of Bialystok, the Ministry of Climate and Environment and the Institute of Environmental Protection. The aim of the project partners is to create an image of the region as a place which combines knowledge about all aspects of the natural resource, wood, including education about economic activity in environmentally valuable areas and investment in modern technologies that support the climate. The exhibition will be a form of prelude to the creation of XYLOPOLIS – the Centre for Science and Woodcraft in the future.

  • The Warmia and Masuria Region

     

    The concept of the presentation of Warmia and Masuria Region is to show it as a place for relaxation and contact with nature, as well as a place with great business potential, where innovative technologies are being developed and nature and landscapes are inspirations for creative actions. The central point of the exhibition will be an interactive installation imitating floating scirpus (species of bulrush) on a Warmian lake. The message is to reflect how important it is to live in harmony and balance with our planet. The substantive elements of the presentation will be two conferences about tourism and investment opportunities in Warmia and Masuria.

  • The City of Lodz

     

    The City of Lodz Day at Expo in Dubai, scheduled for December 9, 2021, will be associated with EXPO 2029 LODZ POLSKA – Nature of the City, to be organized in the centre of Poland, in a city with an extraordinary history, a priceless post-industrial heritage and, currently, some major revitalization challenges. This fits perfectly with the motto of the Polish Pavilion in Dubai – “Creativity inspired by nature”. Expo is a great opportunity to promote the City of Lodz and international cooperation. Visitors will be invited to participate in seminars, all-day events, workshops and artistic events in the Polish Pavilion, where urban plants and multimedia materials will be shown in the Gastronomy Zone. An important element of Lodz’s presence in Dubai will be the participation of the President of the City of Lodz at the Polish-Emirate Economic Forum.

  • The Bialystok University of Technology

     

    The Bialystok University of Technology is the oldest and largest technical university in north-eastern Poland. The knowledge and commitment of the University’s experts in the field of wooden architecture and the ecosystems of the Primeval European Forest has made it possible to prepare the Xylopolis 2020 temporary exhibition, together with the Podlaskie Region Marshal’s Office and the Institute of Environmental Protection, who were a great support in the construction of the modular and wooden structure of the entire Polish Pavilion in Dubai.
    In addition, students from Bialystok University of Technology will be on hand to help with the temporary exhibitions during Expo 2020 as part of their work experience program.

  • The University of Bialystok

     

    The University of Bialystok is the largest university in the Podlasie Region. We are involved in two activities through which we will be co-creating the World Exhibition Expo 2020 Dubai. Firstly, we are cooperating with the Podlaskie Region in preparing the presentation of our region in the temporary exhibition zone; one of the elements will be the ground-breaking achievements of our scientists. Secondly, five of our students will have the opportunity to apply for an internship and work in the Polish Pavilion. We are glad that we can contribute substantially and organizationally to the preparation of an event which will promote Poland and its regions; our potential, achievements and natural wealth. Participation in the Expo will certainly be a great and inspiring experience.

  • The University of Lodz

     

    The University of Lodz, represented by the Faculty of Economics and Sociology, will be sending 25 students to help in the Polish Pavilion, thus completing their work experience program, in cooperation with, and on behalf of the Polish Investment and Trade Agency. This chosen group of students, with the appropriate knowledge of foreign languages and the skills needed to operate in an intercultural environment, will not only be a worthy ambassadors for Lodz University during Expo 2020 but also for our country. We want to participate actively, both in terms of content and organization, in the events from the world of science accompanying Expo, including GEES. We are ready to get involved in promoting the broadly-understood offer of Polish Science and education, which is to be promoted in the Polish Pavilion during this largest event in the Arab world. At the same time, as the University is an integral part of the city and the region, we are pleased to be involved in “Lodz Week”, which will be an ideal showcase to promote the potential of the Lodz region to visitors from all over the world.

  • Lodz University of Technology

     

    Shaping the image of Poland through designing the outfits for the Polish Pavilion representatives at the Expo in Dubai is a great way to promote the young, creative, well-educated designers from the Lodz University of Technology. We hope that this challenge will contribute to expanding the competences of the students involved in Expo, the largest economic event in the world. The invitation to cooperate is an measure of appreciation for the high level of education of future fashion designers at Lodz University of Technology. This is the best promotion of the university’s educational offer, delivered by the Faculty of Material Technology and Textile Design.

  • the Cracow University of Economics

     

    It is a great honour for the Cracow University of Economics to participate in the World Exhibition Expo 2020 Dubai. By co-creating this most prestigious event, we will be contributing to the economic promotion of Poland, promotion of the Lesser Poland region and the promotion of our university. We are already proud of many of our national brands that we plan to promote at the exhibition. By engaging in the organization of the Polish Pavilion and accompanying events, our students will develop professional competences in an international setting. Taking part in Expo 2020 Dubai will be a time to establish international contacts, gain knowledge and professional experience in a unique environment. It will also be a time to exchange information on economic, technological and cultural achievements, as well as an opportunity to experience an unforgettable adventure.

  • The Vistula University

     

    The Vistula University is the oldest of the private universities operating in Poland. It is a prestigious international, business school educating young people from 100 countries. Our students will go to the Expo World Exhibition for the second time, having been to Astana in 2017. Now, as a part of a paid internship, they will be engaged to serve guests at the Pavilion of Poland in Dubai and will take part in one of the most important and prestigious events in the world. This will be an opportunity to promote not just our country, but also the university and Polish science. It is an honour, a source of deep satisfaction, and a fantastic adventure that many can only dream of. Thanks to their constantly-developing competencies in intercultural communication, they should do well. They are talented young people. We are sure that their participation in the Expo World Exhibition in Dubai will also become their personal success. They will have a unique experience from working in an international environment.     The Vistula School of Hospitality is a renowned university with an international atmosphere and strong business ties. We promote the idea of entrepreneurship. We educate for the needs of the tourism sector, the conference industry, hotel industry and gastronomy. We focus on the practical skills which are required on the labor market. Our students will go to the Expo World Exhibition for the second time, having been to Astana in 2017.   • the United Nations Internet Governance Forum

     

    Apart from Expo 2020 Dubai, 2021 sees another important global event, the United Nations Internet Governance Forum, IGF 2021. While Poland will be a guest at the Expo, for the Internet Governance Forum we will take on the role of host country. In order to take advantage of two such major events and to promote Poland’s expertise in digitization, the High Representative of the Prime Minister for European Digital Policy and the Republic of Poland’s Plenipotentiary for the UN IGF 2021, Krzysztof Szubert, will visit the Polish Pavilion at Expo where he will hold a series of meetings. The Chancellery of the Prime Minister of Poland, as the body authorised to organise the IGF 2021, is also planning to run a series of online activities with the participation of young people from Poland and from abroad who are involved in digital issues.
